NSE clarifies non-entry of Castrol, Gland Pharma in F&O. Check other stock inclusions

This announcement comes after a previous decision to add six companies to the F&O segment, namely Castrol India, Gland Pharma, NBCC, Phoenix Mills, Solar Industries, and Torrent Power.

NSE stated that the shares of Castrol India and Gland Pharma will be excluded from the F&O segment.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced key changes to its futures and options (F&O) segment, revealing that the shares of Castrol India and Gland Pharma will be excluded from the segment, effective January 31, 2025.

The announcement was made on Friday, January 24.

“This is in partial modification to Exchange circular no. NSE/FAOP/66015 dated January 07, 2025 regarding Introduction of Futures & Options Contracts on Six Additional Individual Securities informing the list of additional securities which would be available for trading w.e.f. January 31, 2025. However, it is being hereby informed that the below securities have not fulfilled one of the eligibility criteria as on date: 1 Castrol India Limited (CASTROLIND); 2. Gland Pharma Limited (GLAND),” said NSE in its circular.


This announcement follows an earlier decision to add six companies to the F&O segment, including Castrol India, Gland Pharma, NBCC, Phoenix Mills, Solar Industries, and Torrent Power.

However, as mentioned above, Castrol India and Gland Pharma have now been excluded from the list of newly added F&O securities.

In a related development, the NSE last month announced the exclusion of F&O contracts for 16 securities. Starting February 28, 2025, no new expiry contracts will be introduced for these stocks as part of the exchange's periodic review of the F&O segment.

The impacted securities in the said exclusion include Abbott India, Atul Ltd, Bata India, Can Fin Homes, Coromandel International, City Union Bank, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals, IndiaMART InterMESH, Ipca Laboratories, Dr. Lal PathLabs, Metropolis Healthcare, Navin Fluorine International, PVR INOX, Sun TV Network, and United Breweries.

Meanwhile, the shares of Castrol India were trading flat at Rs 178.45 while those of Gland Pharma were trading 2% lower at Rs 1,577 on the BSE today around 11:10 am.
