NSE-BSE bulk deals: Nomura, Elara cut stake in GSS Infotech

Mumbai: Key investors including Nomura Singapore and Elara India Opportunities Fund pared their stake in IT firm GSS Infotech, while promoter Rao Marepally Raghunadha Rao lapped up some more shares in the company.

Meanwhile, Som Distilleries & Breweries witnessed Karst Peak Asia Master Fund and Vermilion Peak Master Fund trimming their stake in the company.

Benchmark equity indices closed off highs on Wednesday as selling in the last hour erased early gains. But the market advanced for the third straight session, led by gains in financials and Reliance Industries (RIL).


BSE’s Sensex rose 0.22 per cent to close at 38,165 points, while NSE’s Nifty edged up 0.2 per cent to close at 11,408 points.

Here’s who bought and sold what in some of the key bulk and block deals of the day:
>> Nomura Singapore, Elara India Opportunities Fund, Sumant Kapur and Ambika Kapur sold shares of GSS Infotech, while promoter Rao Marepally Raghunadha Rao lapped up some of them.

On Wednesday, Elara India Opportunities Fund had sold 5,00,000 shares of GSS Infotech at Rs 21.54 per share, while Rao Marepally Raghunadha Rao bought 1,18,337 shares of the company at Rs 21.78 per share.

As at end June, the sellers held 4.13 per cent, 4.12 per cent, 1.30 per cent and 3.86 per cent stake respectively, while Rao held 12.62 per cent stake in the company.

>> Karst Peak Asia Master Fund and Vermilion Peak Master Fund sold 12,74.630 shares and 6,45,827 shares of Som Distilleries and Breweries respectively, while Shah Niraj Rajnikant bought 2,10,000 of the same.

On Tuesday, Karst Peak Asia Master Fund had sold 1,77,000 shares of Som Distilleries at Rs 46.96 per share.

As of end June, the two funds held 7.56 per cent and 3.78 per cent stake respectively in the company.

>> Promoter Agnus Capital and co-promoter Chayadeep Ventures bought 1,00,00,000 shares each of Sequent Scientific from co-promoter K R Ravishankar at Rs 128.60 per share.

As of end June, Agnus Capital, Chayadeep Ventures, and K R Ravishankar held 2.21 per cent, 4.96 per cent and 11.23 per cent stake in the company.

>> Trishashna Holdings & Investments continued to buy Satin Creditcare RE. It bought 2,98,793 of such REs at Rs 19.42 each.

>> Duro India Opportunities fund bought 93,119 shares of Bajaj Finance from Duro One Investment at Rs 3,419.45 per share.

>> Duro India Opportunities fund bought 7,73,606 shares of Ujjivan Financial Services from Duro One Investment at Rs 242.70 per share.
