Nirma shares soar 7% on acquisition of US co
Shares of detergent maker Nirma on Tuesday soared 7 per cent with the company buying US-based soda ash makers Searless Valley Minerals Operations and Searless Valley Minerals. The company has not disclosed the acquisition price.

MUMBAI: Shares of detergent maker Nirma on Tuesday soared 7 per cent with the company buying US-based soda ash makers Searless Valley Minerals Operations and Searless Valley Minerals. The company has not disclosed the acquisition price.
Searless Valley Minerals is a leading manufacturer of inorganic chemicals and is one of the five natural soda ash manufacturers in the US. It is the only US producer of soda ash, sodium borates, boric acid and sodium sulfate utilising the solution mining method.
At 11:28 am, Nirma shares were up 6.69 per cent at Rs 219.30 on BSE.
