Network 18, Jagran to launch Hindi business daily
Network18 and Jagran Prakashan will jointly launch a Hindi business newspaper in 2008, for which the two have entered into a 50:50 joint venture.
‘The joint venture also intends to launch other Indian language dailies focused on financial and economic news,” said Network18 managing director, Raghav Bahl.
The venture will be governed by a board comprising representatives from Network 18 and Jagran Prakashan. The operational specifics in terms of brand name, selection of the editorial and business team and so on is in the process of being formalized.
The venture will be funded through equity infusion initially from both sides followed by internal accruals and debt financing in the later stage.
At 10:19 am, shares of TV18 were up 4.31 per cent at Rs 484 on BSE and Jagran Prakashan up 2.53 per cent at Rs 735.
