Most traded stocks on NSE on Wednesday

The Nifty50 index closed 41 points down at 10,491, while Sensex settled 99 points down at 33,912 on Wednesday.

Nifty50 and Sensex hit fresh record highs of 10,552 and 34,138, respectively
NEW DELHI: With over 2 crore shares changing hands, Sun Pharma emerged as the most traded stock on NSE on Wednesday.

It was followed by Steel Authority of India (SAIL), NHPC, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Idea Cellular, DLF, Vedanta, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland and Bank of Baroda.

Equity benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex settled in the negative zone on Wednesday after hitting fresh record highs of 10,552 and 34,138, respectively, as investors remained cautious on the penultimate day of the expiry of December series of derivatives.


The Nifty50 index closed 41 points down at 10,491, while Sensex settled 99 points down at 33,912 on Wednesday.

In the Nifty50 index, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy's, Wipro and Aurobindo Pharma settled as the top gainers.

On the contrary, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, UltraTech Cement, Bosch and Tata Consultancy Services remained among the losers of the day.

Among the sectors, Nifty Pharma index jumped over 2 per cent, backed by gains in Sun Pharma, Divi's Lab, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories.

Out of 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 13 stocks ended the day in the green, while 37 rested in the red.
