Most traded stocks on NSE on Friday

Auto and IT stocks stole the show, whereas oil & gas stocks remained bearish on Friday.

Domestic equity market benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex ended the year's last trading session in the positive territory.
NEW DELHI: Shares of Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 2.32 crore), NHPC (1.98 crore), DLF (1.38 crore) and State Bank of India (1.19 crore) stood as the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE on Friday.

They were followed by Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (1.08 crore), Punjab National Bank (0.98 crore), ICICI Bank (0.96 crore), Tata Power (0.95 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.87 crore), Tata Motors (0.86 crore), Axis Bank (0.84 crore) and Ashok Leyland (0.78 crore).

Domestic equity market benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex ended the year's last trading session in the positive territory.


On Friday, Nifty50 closed 53 points up at 10,531, while BSE Sensex settled 209 points up at 34,057.

Auto and IT stocks stole the show, whereas oil & gas stocks remained bearish on Friday.

Tata Motrs, Bharti Infratel, Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Hero MotoCorp, HCL Technologies and Adani Ports emerged as the top gainers in the NIfty50 index, each gaining over 2 per cent.

GAIL (India), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Indian Oil Corporation remained the top losers of the day.
