Morgan Stanley appoints new India country head

London-based Kohli will move to Mumbai for the new role. Before being the COO for Morgan Stanley's EMEA, he held a similar position for the firm's Asia Pacific operations.

MUMBAI: Morgan Stanley has appointed Arun Kohli, chief operating officer for the firm's Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations as the India country head, according to an internal memo reviewed by ET. He will replace Sanjay Shah, who is set to retire after a 26-year stint with the investment bank, it said.

A Morgan Stanley spokesperson confirmed the development.

London-based Kohli will move to Mumbai for the new role. Before being the COO for Morgan Stanley's EMEA, he held a similar position for the firm's Asia Pacific operations.


Shah was elevated to the position of the country head in 2021 after being the co-country head since 2006. He was also the co-head of India equities.
