NEW DELHI: Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra fell over 1 per cent in trade on Thursday, even as the company launched its new compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) TUV 300 to take on competition in the sub-four metre space, where it will compete with Ford EcoSport, Hyundai’s newly-launched Creta and Renault’s Duster.

The stock fell 1.3 per cent to hit its intraday low of Rs 1,150, before recovering a bit in the late morning trade.

The vehicle was unveiled at the Chakan plant on Thursday morning.

The introductory price of the new vehicle that is built on a brand new platform would be Rs 6.9 lakh to Rs 9.12 lakh for the BS4 version at Pune. The SUV is being offered in three different variants and six colours plus one made to order combat green colour.

Designed on the looks of a battle tank and built on a chassis base, the SUV is fitted with a 1.5 litre mHawk engine with a two-stage turbocharger.
