MUMBAI: Within a week of shifting its corporate office to its premises at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), MCX Stock Exchange ( MCX-SX) announced here today that it has also shifted its data centre and co-location from suburban Exchange Square and FT tower respectively, to BKC.

The migration includes co-location, front-end and back-end information systems too. Feed vendors, depositories, clearing banks and custodians are also connected to new data centres. The testing of connectivity was concluded successfully on Sunday, August 31. MCX-SX also commenced live trading from its new data centre with effect from September 1.

The move to shift data centre to BKC would reduce MCX-SX's technology costs, a statement issued here said.

"The board has identified the roadmap for turnaround and this was one of the important milestones. Shifting data centre to a reputed partner like Tata Communications Ltd will give MCX-SX the much needed cost. The focus will now be on developing consistent and sustainable volumes," MCX-SX MD and CEO Saurabh Sarkar said in the statement.
