Maruti Suzuki scales fresh record high on July Brezza, Ertiga sales numbers

NEW DELHI: Shares of Maruti Suzuki jumped 3 per cent to hit a record high in Tuesday’s trade afterthe carmaker reported a 20.6 per cent surge in July sales at 165346 units. The stock eventually closed the session at Rs 7,859.10, up 1.96 per cent on BSE.

In a press release, the largest domestic carmaker said that it sold 1,54,001 vehicles in India during the month and exported 11,345 units in the same month.



Following the numbers, the stock rose 2.75 per cent to hit a record high of Rs 7,920 on BSE in the morning deals on Tuesday to close nearly 2 per cent higher at Rs 7,859.10.

The company commands a market value of Rs 2.4 lakh crore.

Utility vehicle segment, which comprised of Ertiga, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza saw 46.1 per cent YoY surge in sales. It was followed by growth in compact segment (19.6 epr cent), midsized segment (17.1 per cent) and mini segment (14.1 per cent). Here’s a full chart.
