Markets Now: 12 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows in trade

On the BSE 500 index, 125 stocks were trading in the green while 369 were in the grip of bears.

Traders were seen building their bets in infrastructure, mining, automobile, tobacco and cement stocks.
Shares of MVL Gitanjali Gems, UCO Bank, Omkar Speciality, Lypsa Gems, Tara Jewels, Allahabad Bank, Union Bank India, MRO-TEK, Electrosteel, Hindustan Comp and Venus Remedies slumped to their new 52-week lows in the morning session on Monday.

Benchmark equity indices traded in the red. The NSE Nifty index was down 43.40 points at 10,408.9 while the BSE Sensex was lower by 134.57 points at 33,876.19.

In contrast, CKP Products, South West Pinnacle Exploration, Ramgopal Poly, Zenith Birla, Innovana Thinklabs, Krebs Biochem, Sunflag Iron, Mohini Health & Hygiene, FCS Software, Vasa Retail & Overseas and Goenka Diamond stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.


Bharti Infratel, Vedanta, Ambuja Cements, GAIL, UltraTech Cement, UPL, TCS and Tata Motors were among the top Nifty gainers.

However, Tata Steel, Zee Entertainment, Indiabull Housing Finance, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel and SBI gained big.

Traders were seen building their bets in infrastructure, mining, automobile, tobacco and cement stocks. However, selling was visible in aquaculture, glass, packaging, rubber, engineering and textiles sectors.
