Markets not overheated; massive correction unlikely: Amit Chandra, Bain Capital
NEW DELHI: With the Budget just a few days away, markets are trading cautiously. Many experts feel that the market has already run up a lot and a further upside is limited.

However, speaking to ET Now, Amit Chandra, MD, Bain Capital said, "Markets have obviously run up a lot and the case for them keeping similar pace over the next year or two is definitely relatively a weak case. That does not mean that the markets are overheated and a massive correction is overdue."

"If markets continue to remain growthful, the pace of growth will be somewhat muted at least in the short term and then will be dictated a little bit more by the earnings growth cycle from a medium to long term perspective, added Chandra.

When asked about the opportunities that the private equit players will have, he said that he was certain that 2015 is likely to be a better year for private equity from an investment perspective than 2014 but 2016 will be far better.
