While China and Taiwan bourses were closed for the day on account of Mid Autumn festival, Korean exchange was shut on account of Chusok.

NEW DELHI: Asian markets across China, Taiwan and Korea are closed on Thursday due to public holidays.
While China and Taiwan bourses are closed for the day on account of Mid-Autumn festival, Korean exchange is shut on account of Chusok, the full moon Festival.

The ongoing week will be dull as far as Asian markets are concerned.

On Friday, Malaysia markets will be closed for Malaysia Day. It is remembered as the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. China, Taiwan and South Korea will remain closed and have extended holidays. Hong Kong market too will be shut on Friday, a day after Chinese Mid-Autumn festival.

On Thursday morning, Japan’s equity benchmark Nikkei was trading 1.3 per cent lower at 16,399, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index was up 0.31 per cent.
