The rally extended to the broader markets, with the Nifty Midcap 100 gaining 1.55% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 rising 2%.
Sectorally, realty and metal stocks led the gains, with the Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal indices jumping nearly 3% each. The Nifty Consumer Durables index also advanced over 2%, emerging among the top-performing sectoral indices. However, the rally was not uniform, with the Nifty IT index bucking the broader market trend to decline 1.5%.
Market breadth on the NSE remained firmly positive, reflecting widespread buying interest. Of the 3,704 stocks traded, 2,720 advanced, 883 declined and 101 remained unchanged.

Here are today’s top gainers on the Nifty

During Wednesday’s session, minor intraday profit booking in the Nifty was absorbed near its 100-day moving average, indicating strong buying interest and continued bullish control.
“The 100-DMA, placed around 23,700, is expected to act as an immediate support for the index. On the upside, the 24,000 zone remains a crucial resistance, coinciding with the psychological hurdle and the 200-DMA. Hence, a Buy on Dips strategy remains preferable, with support at 23,700 and resistance at 24,000 and 24,200 levels," said Vatsal Bhuva, Technical Analyst at LKP Securities.
