Market Now: Venky’s, Ujaas Energy surge over 10%

Other major stocks that were trading higher were Jindal Drilling, Castex Tech, Bhansali Engg, IIFL Holdings, JMT Auto, JP Associates and Jaypee Infra.
Market opened higher on Thursday following positive global cues and buying in selected metal, banking and IT stocks.
Shares of GAIL, Vedanta, Infosys, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tata Steel, Hindalco, ACC, M&M and Bharti Airtel emerged as top gainers in the Nifty index, while Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Wipro, NTPC, Eicher Motors and UltraTech Cement were trading in red.
More than 26 stocks hit their fresh 52-week high during the trade so far. The list includes stocks such as ICICI Prudential Life, Welspun Corporation, MEP Infrastructure Developers and Goa Carbons.
However, 29 stocks, including Rasoya Proteins, LCC Infotech, REI Agro and Sezal Glass touched their fresh 52-week low.

In the Nifty 50 index, 42 stocks were trading in green, including Axis Bank, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, ACC and Indiabulls Housing Finance.
However, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sun Pharmaceutical, UltraTech Cement and Tata Power were among 8 stocks trading in red.
