NEW DELHI: Shares of Uttam Value Steels (16.67 per cent), De Nora India (11.05 per cent), Panacea Biotec (10.11 per cent) and Goenka Diamond (10 per cent) zoomed over 10 per cent in Wednesday's trade, defying cautious market sentiment.

Shares of Ester Industries (9.97 per cent), Raj Rayon (9.09 per cent), Bansal Multiflex (8.59 per cent), Ballarpur Industries (8.42 per cent), Orient Bell (8.36 per cent), Rana Sugars (7.58 per cent), Jai Corp (7.29 per cent) and KM Sugar Mills (6.89 per cent) rallied up to 9 per cent.

The benchmark Sensex dropped below the 36,000-mark by falling over 124 points in early session today as participants trimmed positions ahead of the Union budget amid fresh outflow by foreign funds.

Sentiment turned cautious as investors preferred to reduce their positions ahead of the Union budget to be presented tomorrow.

A weak trend in Asia coupled with an overnight sell-off on the Wall Street dampened the sentiment here.
