Market Now: These stocks defy positive market mood, crack over 15%

Equity benchmarks were trading in the positive territory amid positive global cues.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Uttam Value Steels (down 25 per cent), Globe International Carriers (down 20 per cent), Raj Rayon Industries (down 16.67 per cent) and Samtel Color (down 16.67 per cent) cracked over 15 per cent during Thursday's trade, defying positive mood of markets.

Stocks such as Mercator (down 13.77 per cent), Pipavav Defence (down 13.38 per cent), MVL (down 12.50 per cent), Visagar Polytex (down 9.52 per cent), Globe Textiles (India) (down 9.38 per cent), Goenka Diamond (down 9.09 per cent) and SRS (down 9.09 per cent) declined over 9 per cent.

Equity benchmarks were trading in the positive territory amid positive global cues.


A fresh spell of buying was observed in pharma, IT, FMCG and auto stocks.

The 30-share Sensex was trading 75 points up at 34,577, while the 50-share Nifty index was 16 points up at 10,586 around 10:25 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 index, 23 stocks were in the green, while 25 stocks were in the red.
