NEW DELHI: Telecom stocks were trading mixed during Wednesday's trade.

However, losses in stocks such as GTL Infrastructure (down 1.82 per cent) and Sterlite Technologies (down 1.65 per cent) were keeping the sectoral index slightly down.

The BSE Telecom index was trading 0.17 per cent down at 1,174 around 11:35 am.

Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (down 1.45 per cent), Tejas Networks (down 1.09 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (down 0.75 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 0.47 per cent) and MTNL (down 0.31 per cent) too were incurring losses.

Meanwhile, shares of GTL (up 4.59 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 2.44 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 1.38 per cent) and Idea Cellular (up 1.09 per cent) were trading with gains.

Vindhya Telelinks (up 0.36 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 0.35 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 0.26 per cent), ITI (up 0.26 per cent) and Tata Communications (up 0.25 per cent) were also in the green.

Shares of Bharti Infratel were almost flat around that time.

The BSE Sensex was 65 points down at 34,586, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 37 points at 10,500.

In the Sensex kitty, 11 stocks were up, while 20 were down.

Tata Steel, ONGC, Dr Reddy's Labs and IndusInd Bank were among the top losers in the Sensex index.

State Bank of India, on the other hand, continued leading the pack of Sensex gainers.
