Market Now: Stocks that plunged nearly 5%
NEW DELHI: Shares of Gujarat NRE Coke (down 5.71 per cent), Lanco Infratech (down 4.55 per cent), Thangamayil Jew (down 4.43 per cent) and IFGL Refract (down 4.42 per cent) plunged nearly 5 per cent in Friday's trade on NSE in a subdued market on account of weak global cues.

Other major stocks that declined on NSE included JVL Agro (down 3.58 per cent), Graphite India (down 3.41 per cent), Gokul Agro Resources (down 3.16 per cent) and Indian Metals (down 3.05 per cent).

After market opening on a negative note- on account of selling pressure in bank, FMCG and IT sectors- over 16 stocks, including FCS Software, Northgate Com, Lanco Infratech, Flexituff, MIC Electronics, KSS, Stampede Cap and REI Agro hit their fresh 52-week low.

However, over 55 stocks, including Vinyl Chemicals, Lumax Auto Tech, M M Forgings, Almondz Global, Kanoria Chem, Nath Bio-Genes, JBM Auto and Central Depository Services (India) hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE.

Weak global cues, because of soft labour data in the US, and geopolitical concerns about North Korea dampened market sentiments.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 0.16 per cent down at 9,659.25, while the 30-share Sensex too was 0.15 per cent down at 31,321.05 around 12.40 pm (IST).
