Market Now: Sensex, Nifty extend gains; these stocks surge over 15%
NEW DELHI: Shares of Future Market (19.96 per cent), Indian Metals (18.01 per cent) and Salona Cotspin (16.95 per cent) surged over 15 per cent in Wednesday's trade amid benchmark stock indices rising for a second straight session.

Stocks such as BLS International Services (14.09 per cent), Vikram Thermo (12.28 per cent), R&B Denims (11.11 per cent), Nat Plastic (11.04 per cent), Shree Ajit Pulp (10.81 per cent), Ram Informatics (10.47 per cent) and Future Retail (10.08 per cent) also registered significant gains.

Benchmark indices traded up on Wednesday, with most of the bank, realty, pharma and auto stocks gaining in trade.

Positive global cues, following overnight gains at Wall Street driven by growing optimism over a US tax reform plan, gave a fillip to market sentiment.

Nifty Realty index surged as much as 4 per cent to hit the intraday high of 276. Shares of DLF, Delta Corp and Housing Development and Infrastructure contributed to the upsurge by each zooming over 4 per cent.

In the Nifty pack, Dr Reddy's, Infosys, Gail, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, Tata Motors and NTPC were the top gainers.

However, Tech Mahindra, Tata Power, Eicher Motors and HCL Technologies were losing.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 41 points up at 9,806, while the 30-share Sensex was 156 points up at 31,448 around 1 pm (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 34 stocks were trading in green, while 17 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,538 stocks were advancing whereas 813 stocks were lagging.
