Market Now: Reliance Industries, L&T among most active stocks in terms of value

NEW DELHI: Shares of Reliance Industries (Rs 268.95 crore) emerged as the most active stock in terms of value in Wednesday's trade. However, benchmark indices continued to trade in red.

Other major stocks that joined the list were Larsen & Toubro (Rs 229.38 crore), Lupin (Rs 143.89 crore), YES Bank (Rs 132.32 crore), SBI (Rs 122.30 crore), HDFC (Rs 117.28 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 105.85 crore), Axis Bank (Rs 102.65 crore), BPCL (Rs 93.16 crore) and M&M (Rs 90.87 crore).

Most active stocks in terms of value help investors to identify the stocks with the highest trading turnover during the day.

The NSE Nifty was 20.95 points down at 9632.55, while the BSE Sensex was 5.35 points down at 31,292 around 2.30 pm (IST).

In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Cipla, Bosch, BPCL, TCS, Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech, Hindalco, Tata Motors and Eicher Motors lost over 1 per cent in trade so far.

Meanwhile, Nelco, Indiabulls Ventures, Global Vectra, KIOCL, Simplex Project, Magnum Ventures, Goa Carbons, Surya Roshni, SPML Infra, SREI Infra Fin, Va Tech Wabag and GMR Infra were the stocks which touched their fresh 52-week high.
