Market Now: Realty stocks tumble; Unitech plunges 8%

NEW DELHI: Most of the realty stocks were trading down in afternoon trade on Tuesday.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 3 per cent down at 355 around 02:40 pm (IST) with shares of Unitech (down 8.06 per cent) as the top loser.

Shares of Godrej Properties (down 5.34 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (down 4.50 per cent), DLF (down 2.96 per cent), Phoenix Mills (down 2.94 per cent), Housing Development & Infrastructure (down 2.75 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 1.78 per cent) and Sobha (down 1.66 per cent) were also down in the index.


Delta Corp (up 5.80 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.16 per cent) were the two stocks that were up in the realty index around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 21 points down at 10,720, while the BSE Sensex was flat at 34,844.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, SAIL, Idea Cellular, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Infosys and ITC were among the most traded stocks on NSE.
