Market Now: Over 70 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs

The 30-share Sensex was 144 points up at 33,992, while the 50-share Nifty50 was trading 36 points up at 10,514 around 10.25 am (IST).

In the Nifty index, Asian Paints, Bharti Infratel were among the top gainers.

NEW DELHI: Over 70 stocks, including Century Textiles & Industries, D B Realty, Fineotex Chemical, Havells India, Jet Airways (India), Jindal Saw and Jindal Steel & Power hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Friday's trade.

United Spirits, Jain Irrigation Systems, Raymond, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Tata Global Beverages, Tata Steel and Wockhardt also joined the league of stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE.

Equity benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex were trading up on Friday morning, thanks to gains in PSU banks, FMCG and auto stocks.

The 30-share Sensex was 144 points up at 33,992, while the 50-share Nifty50 was trading 36 points up at 10,514 around 10.25 am (IST).

Shares of Idea Cellular, DLF, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), NHPC, Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India were among the most traded stocks on the NSE.

In the Nifty index, Asian Paints, Bharti Infratel, Axis Bank, Lupin, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Hero MotoCorp were among the top gainers.

However, GAIL (India), Wipro, Hindalco Industries, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Vedanta and Bharat Petroleum Corporation were trading as the losers among the Nifty stocks.
