Market Now: Over 140 stocks hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE

Benchmark indices nosedives on Tuesday in reaction to a steep fall seen on Wall Street in overnight trade.

NEW DELHI: Over 140 stocks including Allahabad Bank, Balrampur Chini Mills, BSE, Castrol India, Corporation Bank and Exide Industries hit new 52-week lows on NSE in Tuesday's trade.

Fortis Healthcare, IDFC Bank, Multi Commodity Exchange of India, Power Finance Corporation, Punjab & Sind Bank, SREI Infrastructure Finance, Syndicate Bank, Tata Motors, Union Bank of India and United Bank of India also joined the bandwagon of stocks that hit new 52-week lows on NSE on Tuesday.

Benchmark indices nosedives on Tuesday in reaction to a steep fall seen on Wall Street in overnight trade.


The NSE Nifty index was trading 334 points down at 10,333, while the BSE Sensex was 1099 points down at 33,659 around 10:10 am (IST).

All components in the Sensex and Nifty50 index were in the red.

Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, State Bank of India, ITC and SAIL were among the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange.

In the Nifty50 index, Tata Motors (down 7.12 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 4.90 per cent), Vedanta (down 4.84 per cent), Axis Bank (down 4.49 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 4.34 per cent) were among the top losers.
