Market Now: Nifty Realty index top sectoral gainer; Sobha surges 5%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Realty index was trading as the top gainer among the sectoral indices on NSE in Tuesday's trade.

The Nifty Realty was trading 1.48 per cent up at 294 around 11:25 am (IST), with shares of Sobha (up 4.81 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (up 4.12 per cent), Godrej Properties (up 3.90 per cent), Delta Corp (up 3.89 per cent) and Housing Development & Infrastructure (up 3.23 per cent) as the top gainers.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32 points at 10,217, while the BSE Sensex was up 92 points at 32,598.

Unitech (down 1.56 per cent), Phoenix Mills (down 0.99 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (down 0.40 per cent) were the three components in the Nifty Realty index that were trading in the red around that time.

ONGC (up 2.91 per cent), Vedanta (up 2.78 per cent), NTPC (up 2.63 per cent), YES Bank (up 2.15 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.83 per cent) and Bharti Infratel (up 1.70 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, IndusInd Bank (down 1.42 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.38 per cent), HCL Tech (down 1.13 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.89 per cent), Bosch (down 0.84 per cent) and Sun Pharma (down 0.70 per cent) were trading as the top losers.

On the NSE, 1061 stocks were advancing, compared with 564 stocks declining and 348 stocks remaining unchanged.
