Market Now: Nifty Realty in green; Godrej Properties, IB Real Estate gain

NEW DELHI: Shares of Godrej Properties (up 4.06 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 3.47 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (up 2.57 per cent), Delta Corp (up 2.33 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (up 2.02 per cent) surged over 2 per cent, helping the Nifty Realty index gain over 1 per cent in Monday's trade.

The Nifty Realty was trading 1.21 per cent up at 276.95 around 11:35 am (IST) with only DLF (down 1.52 per cent) and Unitech (down 0.66 per cent) as the losers.

Other sectoral indices, such as IT, pharma, bank and auto also registered significant gains.

Infosys, Sun Pharma, Eicher Motors, ACC, NTPC and Indian Oil Corporation were topping the Nifty chart.

On the other hand, Dr Reddy's, Power Grid, Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Motors were slipping in trade.

Persistent buying by domestic institutional investors amid positive global cues kept markets' sentiment aloft.

Nifty50 was trading above 9,900-mark, while Sensex was trading near 31,800 level.

In the Nifty50 pack, 35 stocks were trading in green, while 16 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,492 stocks were advancing whereas 768 stocks were lagging.
