Market Now: Nearly 90 stocks hit fresh 52-week low today

NEW DELHI: Nearly 90 stocks including, Adlabs Entertainment, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries, Eris Lifesciences, Lupin, Piramal Phytocare, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Tata Motors, TV Today Network and Vardhman Poly hit their fresh 52-week low on NSE in Thursday's trade as the domestic equity markets extended their losing streak on account of weak global cues and selling in auto, bank and FMCG stocks.

However, Avadh Sugar & Energy, Edelweiss Financial Services, India Nippon Electricals, PC Jeweller and V2 Retail were among the 8 stocks that hit fresh 52-week high.

As per a PTI report, sustained capital outflow by foreign funds and Asian markets' weak trend, following a sell-off in the US and Europe on escalating geopolitical tensions, kept the domestic bourses downbeat.

Only Nifty Pharma and IT indices were trading in green, with stocks such as Aurobindo Pharma, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Sun Pharmaceutical, Tech Mahindra and Infosys gaining over 1 per cent.

Lupin too recovered after hitting the fresh 52-week low and was trading 1.29 per cent up at Rs 965 around 11.05 am (IST).

Benchmark Nifty50 index was trading 30 points lower at 9,878, while the 30-share Sensex was 81 points down at 31,717 around the same time.

In the Nifty50 pack, 18 stocks were trading in green, while 32 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 553 stocks were advancing whereas 1,618 stocks were lagging.
