Market Now: Nearly 50 stocks hit fresh 52-week high

NEW DELHI: Shares of 48 companies including Goa Carbon, Adani Ports, Balkrishna Industries, Bharat Bijlee Limited and Everest Industries hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE in Tuesday's early trade following firm opening of domestic equity markets on the back of positive global cues.

On the contrary, stocks such as Shyam Telecom, Gujarat Foils, Meenakshi Enterprises, Southern Online and Gujarat NRE Coke touched their fresh 52-week low.

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 12 points up at 9,668.75 around 9.30 am (IST), while BSE Sensex was 20 points up at 31,331.44 around the same time.

Other major stocks that joined the club of fresh 52-week high were Emkay Global Financial Services, Graphite India, KIOCL, JHS Svendgaard, Simplex Project, Punjab Chemical, Phillips Carbon, Magnum Ventures, Shivam Autotech, JBF Industries, PG Electroplast, Indian Hume Pipe, BEML, Graphite India, Magma Fincorp, Tata Investment, Shankara Building Products and NIIT Tech.

Traders were seen buying in equipment, petrochemicals, tobacco, gems and jewellery, auto ancillaries and sectors.

However, selling were visible in aquaculture, glass, packaging, engineering, textiles, mining, banks, auto, plastics, information technology and chemicals.
