NEW DELHI: Shares of Tokyo Plast International, JP Associates and MEP Infrastructure Developers were among the stocks that hit their fresh 52-week high in Tuesday's morning trade despite a volatile market as investors wait for GST kick off.

Other stocks that joined the group included Magnum Ventures, Vimta Labs, Control Print, SPML Infra, Cox & Kings, Himadri Chem, AdityaBirlaNuvo and Elgi Equipments.

As many as 13 stocks on NSE had hit their fresh 52-week high around 10 am (IST).

On the contrary, stocks such as Prakash Steel, Star Cement, Lanco Infratech, Tara Jewels, ANG Industries, IDBI Bank, TV Today Network, Orissa Minerals, Lloyd Electric, Dish TV India, Lupin and Jindal Photo touched their fresh 52-week low.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 26 points down at 9,548, while the 30-share Sensex was 33 points down at 31,104 around the same time.

In the Nifty50 pack, 20 stocks were trading in green, while 31 stocks were in red.

Traders were seen piling up position in sugar, paints and pigments, telecommunications, cables, petrochemicals, shipping, infrastructure, leather, retail, power, electronics, finance, automobiles, petroleum and cement sectors, while selling were visible in aquaculture, glass, packaging, rubber, transport, agriculture/horticulture/lives, engineering, textiles, mining, banks, auto and plastics sectors.
