Market Now: Infosys, Hindalco most active stocks in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: With 0.79 crore shares changing hands, Hindalco emerged as the most active stock in terms of volume on NSE in Friday's trade.

It was followed by stocks such as Infosys (number of shares traded: 0.54 crore), Vedanta (0.43 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.38 crore), Aurobindo Pharm (0.34 crore), Idea Cellular (0.26 crore), BEL (0.25 crore), PFC (0.22 crore), SBI (0.22 crore) and Sun Pharma (0.20 crore).

Nifty opened today above 9,900 for the first time but pared gains to turn negative, tracking weak global cues.

Sensex too slipped after crossing 32,100 mark.

Bank, FMCG, metal and auto stocks experienced selling pressure.

Only pharma index was trading in green on NSE, with Aurobindo Pharma as its top gainer.

Nearly 15 stocks, including FCS Software Solutions, High Ground Enterprise, KSS, LCC Infotech, Lanco Infratech, Rei Agro and Spacenet Enterprises hit their fresh 52-week low on NSE.

Nifty50 was trading at 9,855, down 37 points, while BSE Sensex was trading at 31,946, down 90 points around 11.10 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 18 stocks were trading in green, while 33 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 690 stocks were advancing whereas 1,568 stocks were lagging.
