Market Now: Gems and Jewellery stocks mixed; Gitanjali Gems down 20%

NEW DELHI: Gems and Jewellery stocks were trading mixed during Friday's session.

Shares of Bhakti Gems (up 8.80 per cent), White Organic Agro (up 4.98 per cent), Sunraj Diamond (up 4.91 per cent), KKPLASTICK (up 4.84 per cent), Goenka Diamond & Jewels (up 4.29 per cent), UDAYJEW (up 2.82 per cent), Vaibhav Global Ltd (up 2.62 per cent), Asian Star Company (up 2.56 per cent), PC Jeweller (up 2.41 per cent), Kanani Industries (up 1.98 per cent), DDIL (up 1.85 per cent) and Anshuni Commercials (up 1.79 per cent) were among the top gainers in the gems and jewellery sector.

On the other hand, Gitanjali Gems (down 19.94 per cent), Pure (down 5.52 per cent), Neogem India (down 5.00 per cent), Thangamayil Jewellery (down 5.00 per cent), Sheetal Diamonds (down 5.00 per cent), RADHIKAJWE (down 4.98 per cent), Orosil Smith India Ltd (down 4.93 per cent), Goyal Associates (down 4.93 per cent), Shrenuj & Company (down 4.92 per cent), C Mahendra Exports (down 4.79 per cent), Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (I) (down 4.65 per cent) and Flawless Diamond (down 4.55 per cent) were among the top losers in the same sector.


Key indices Nifty50 and Sensex were down due to selling in bank, metal and auto stocks.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 42.15 points down at 10,503 around 1 pm. The 30-share BSE Sensex was 126 points down at 34172 around the same time.

Ambuja Cements, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, YES Bank, Eicher Motors, State Bank of India, Tech Mahindra and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the top losers.
