Market Now: BSE SmallCap index hits fresh all-time high

NEW DELHI: Broader BSE SmallCap index was outperforming benchmark Sensex as it hit an all-time high of 16,455 in Friday's trade, with shares of 63 Moons Technologies (up 17.11 per cent), Diamond Power Infrastructure (up 12.50 per cent), SORIL Infra Resources (up 11.81 per cent) and Future Enterprises (up 10 per cent) surging over 10 per cent.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 42 points up at 16,380, while the Sensex was 31 points up at 31,693 around 11.12 am (IST).

8K Miles Software Services (down 6.14 per cent), Plastiblends India (down 5.12 per cent), Adlabs Entertainment (down 4.30 per cent) and Sri Adhikari Brothers Television (down 3.88 per cent) were the top losers of the index.

Buying in metal, FMCG and banking sector kept equity markets firm.

However, selling in pharma, realty and IT stocks cooled off markets' a bit.

Nifty Pharma slipped over 1 per cent, with Dr Reddy's cracking over 4 per cent.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals also plunged up to 4 per cent to hit a fresh 52-week low of 576 on NSE.

In the Nifty50 pack, 24 stocks were trading in green, while 27 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,163 stocks were advancing whereas 1,096 stocks were lagging.
