Market Now: BSE FMCG index volatile; Colgate-Palmolive (India) top drag
Among the 51 stocks in Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shree Renuka Sugars (down 1.36 per cent), Future Consumer (down 0.95 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.90 per cent), S H Kelkar & Company (down 0.72 per cent), Eveready Industries India (down 0.65 per cent), United Breweries (down 0.60 per cent) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries (down 0.57 per cent) declined up to 1 per cent.
The S&P BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index was trading 0.03 per cent down at 10,239 around 11.05 am (IST). Benchmark Sensex was 0.02 per cent up at 32,641, while Nifty50 was 0.13 per cent up at 10,244 around that time.

However, some FMCG stocks such as Sanwaria Consumer (up 5.37 per cent), Som Distilleries & Breweries (up 4.94 per cent), Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation (up 4.73 per cent), G M Breweries (up 4.64 per cent), JVL Agro Industries (up 3.16 per cent), VST Industries (up 3 per cent) and Avanti Feeds (up 2.48 per cent) registered good gains.
On the NSE, Sreeleather (down 8.77 per cent), Nu Tek India (down 8.33 per cent), Pansari Developers (down 6.90 per cent), Aarvi Encon (down 5.75 per cent), Visagar Polytex (down 5.56 per cent), Antarctica (down 5.56 per cent) and Sujana Universal (down 5.56 per cent) declined over 5 per cent in Tuesday's trade.
On the BSE, 1,311 stocks were advancing whereas 905 stocks were lagging and 101 stocks were appearing unchanged.
