Market Now: BSE FMCG index trades low; KCP Sugar falls over 4%
NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index was trading 0.84 per cent down at 10,076 around 11 am (IST) in Wednesday's trade with shares of KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation (down 4.04 per cent), ITC (down 1.98 per cent), Ruchi Soya Industries (down 1.91 per cent), Globus Spirits (down 1.68 per cent), Kohinoor Foods (down 1.65 per cent) and Sakthi Sugars (down 1.26 per cent) as the top losers.

However, stocks such as Kwality (up 4.29 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (up 4.04 per cent), DFM Foods (up 3.20 per cent) and G M Breweries (up 3 per cent) were up over 3 per cent in the index around that time.

Besides FMCG, realty, healthcare, IT and bank indices also registered significant fall.

Realty index slipped over 1 per cent.

Sun Pharma, ITC, Lupin, Axis Bank and Adani Ports were the top losers in Sensex kitty, each losing over 1 per cent.

However, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints and Hero MotoCorp were the gainers.

Nifty50 index was trading 49 points lower at 9,903, while the 30-share Sensex was 179 points down at 31,631 around 11 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 17 stocks were trading in green, while 34 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,054 stocks were advancing whereas 1,076 stocks were lagging.
