Market mavens on the road ahead

NEW DELHI: Domestic stock exchanges BSE and NSE are closed on Thursday on account of Diwali Balipratipada. In case of the commodity exchanges, trading will take place only in the evening session. Here's what Dalal Street veterans said on the road ahead:

Markets seem to have bottomed out for the short term. Things will improve from here onwards as the rupee is stabilising, crude is falling and NBFC’s liquidity situation is also improving.

Market can be highly volatile given the macro environment and a heavy political calendar. However, given the sharp correction, it could give a decent return over the next one year.

Midterm outlook depends on oil and a stable pro-economy government at the centre in the forthcoming general elections. Valuations are currently reasonable compared to last year.

Unless there is a major disruption, markets are headed for a decent bounce back. Things are improving in terms of domestic macros while Sept quarter numbers are also not bad.
