Marico off 10% from day’s high post Q4 earnings

Revenue went up 11.95 per cent to Rs 1,480.09 crore for the quarter under review.

For 2017-18, Marico posted nearly 2 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 814.49 crore as against Rs 798.59 crore a year earlier.

FMCG company Marico came off as much as 10 per cent on Wednesday as consolidated net profit edged up 7 per cent year-on-year.

The scrip closed over 4 per cent down at Rs 316.90 whereas benchmark BSE Sensex was up 16 points, or 0.05 per cent, at 35,176. During the day, it hit a high of Rs 348 and low of Rs 312.80.

Profit jumped to at Rs 180.58 crore for the quarter ended March as against Rs 168.69 crore in the same quarter last year. ET Now poll had predicted a net profit of Rs 195 crore for the consumer goods maker.


Revenue went up 11.95 per cent to Rs 1,480.09 crore for the quarter under review. The ETNow poll had pegged it at Rs 1,526 crore.

Segment-wise, revenue from India swelled by an annual 11.75 per cent during January-March whereas international business registered growth of 11.60 per cent.
