Among the 29 banks that reported second quarter business updates till Monday, RBL Bank topped the growth chart in both assets and liabilities, albeit on a lower base.

The pace of banks’ credit expansion surpassed the pace of deposit mobilisation year-on-year for a majority of lenders in the second quarter, conforming to the broader trend seen in the past couple of years.

HDFC Bank and Bank of India are the exceptions as they reported higher deposit growth than credit growth. Among the 29 banks that reported second quarter business updates till Monday, RBL Bank topped the growth chart in both assets and liabilities, albeit on a lower base.
