Mumbai: Trinamool Congress (TMC) lawmaker Mahua Moitra has written a letter to Madhabi Puri Buch, chief of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), seeking the status of the regulator's probe into the Adani Group entities.

Her latest letter on the subject came while Adani stocks lost more than $60 billion in market value since last week amid allegations of 'fraud' and price 'manipulation' by a US short seller.

Moitra, a Member of Parliament from West Bengal and a former global banker, has also raised several questions regarding the Adani Group in her letter to the Sebi chief.

"Based on the statement by the Adani Group CFO, it seems that Sebi has completed its investigation in this matter and if the investigation was completed, the Adani Group won the matter in a court with all charges dismissed or Sebi discharged them," Moitra wrote in the letter. "I would like to understand: When was the investigation on the matter completed? What were the findings? What action was taken? What went to the court? When did it go?"
