MUMBAI: Shares of Madras Cements rose over 7 per cent after the company's board plans to meet on June 30 to consider a bonus share issue.

At 10:30 am, the Madras Cements' share was up 7.88 per cent at Rs 2968 with volume traded at 2719 against two-week average of 3024 shares.

Meanwhile, Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was down 0.8 per cent at 14,455.13 and National Stock Exchange's Nifty shed 0.85 per cent to 4310.60.
