L&T bags Rs 693 cr contract from IOC

Larsen & Toubro bags Rs 693-crore contract from IndianOil for supply of recovery units for the latter's sulphur plant.

MUMBAI: Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro has bagged a Rs 693 crore contract from IndianOil Corporation (IOC) for supplying recovery units for the sulphur plant to be set up by the state-run refiner.

As per the contract, L&T would supply 300 tons per day sulphur recovery units along with other facilities for enhanced recovery of up to 99.9 per cent. This would enable IOC in the production of low sulphur clean fuel to meet regulatory requirements.

IOC, which operates one of its biggest refineries located at Koyali, Gujarat, would set up these plants as part of their fuel upgradation project, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

The order comprises residual process design, engineering procurement, supply, transportation, storage and others for the said project.

Toyo Engineering India would provide services for Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and Black and Veatch (USA) are the process licensors for the above project.

Shares of the company traded at Rs 3060, up 1.31 per cent, at the BSE.
