Local investors should buy equities; infra, auto favourable spaces: Deven Choksey

NEW DELHI: Local investors should take advantage of the current weakness to buy equities, since the volatility is more to do with global factors and this volatility actually affects global traders more than the domestic ones, Deven Choksey of KR Choksey Securities said.

"For investors, nothing much changes actually, because, overnight, the business situation has not changed. Corporate earnings are likely to remain solid in the financial year 15-16 compared to 14-15," Choksey underlined.

He also said that economic activity will gather pace going ahead, as clearances to many projects are coming up. "I guess there is nothing which is changing. On the contrary, it is making sense to buy into the market when it falls. So I would say that investors locally, they have the opportunity to buy into the market when it falls like this," he said.

Choksey pointed out that opportunities existed infrastructure space, including ports and power generation.

He also sees bigger and better opportunities in the automobile sector, particularly the commercial vehicles space.
