Lenskart shares block deal: Alpha Wave Ventures II likely to sell 1.2% stake worth Rs 1,313 crore

Alpha Wave Ventures II is set to sell Lenskart shares worth ₹1,313 crore at a discount, while the eyewear company reports strong profit growth.
Alpha Wave Ventures II, LP plans to divest up to 20.8 million Lenskart shares, or about 1.2% of the company's existing shares, at ₹630 per share. The floor price reflects a 1.7% discount to Lenskart's closing price of ₹640.60 on the NSE on August 27, 2026.
The transaction is estimated at up to about ₹1,312.9 crore, or roughly $137 million. The transaction is entirely secondary, meaning Lenskart itself is not issuing new shares and will not receive the sale proceeds. The existing investor is selling its shares. The sale is being conducted through one or more share sales on the screen-based trading platforms of the Indian stock exchanges.
Spark Institutional Equities and Kotak Securities are handling the deal. The lock-in period is 45 days.
Lenskart made its stock market debut in November 2025 after raising ₹7,278.02 crore through a combination of a fresh issue of 53.5 million equity shares and an offer for sale of up to 127.6 million shares by promoters and existing investors.

The company's shares listed at ₹395 per share on the NSE, representing a 1.75% discount to the issue price of ₹402. On the BSE, the shares opened at ₹390, a 3% discount to the issue price. At Thursday's closing price of ₹639.60, Lenskart shares were about 59% above their IPO issue price of ₹402 per share.
Earlier this month, on August 12, the eyewear provider reported a rise in profit after tax (PAT) to ₹228 crore in the first quarter of FY27 (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹61 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations rose to ₹2,714 crore during the quarter from ₹1,894 crore in Q1 FY26. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) stood at ₹589 crore, compared with about ₹365 crore in the year-ago quarter.
