Kotak cancels global investor conference

Mumbai: Kotak Institutional Equities’ four-day global investor conference has been cancelled amid fears over the coronavirus. The conference ‘Chasing Growth 2020’, which was scheduled for February 17-20 in Mumbai, stands cancelled, Kotak Securities said in a statement on Thursday.

The decision to cancel the conference has been taken as a pre-emptive measure in the interest of corporate and investor clients, said the statement. “While there is no health or travel advisory issued by the Indian government, our decision takes into account the escalation in the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19) in the past couple of days across several countries our delegates are traveling from as well as potential new cases under observation in India.”

This would be the first event cancelled in India due to coronavirus concerns.
