MUMBAI: Kirloskar Brothers fell more than 4 per cent after the company said on Monday it will shut its production unit in Madhya Pradesh from Dec 25 to Jan 4 to avoid excess inventory. This block closure is temporary, to adjust the production as per demand.

The company is a manufacturer and exporter of centrifugal pumps in India. The company is a part of the century old Kirloskar group, which has business interests in major sectors like manufacturing, oil and gas, power, construction and mining, agriculture, industry and transport.

At 11 am, the company's shares were down 4.22 per cent at Rs 80 on BSE.
