KEC bags Rs 226-cr contract in Afghanistan
KEC International Ltd has bagged an Rs 226-crore contract funded by Asian Development Bank from Afghanistan's ministry of energy & water.

MUMBAI: KEC International Ltd has bagged an Rs 226-crore contract funded by Asian Development Bank from Afghanistan's ministry of energy & water. The contract will be completed in 18 months under the guidance of Power Grid Corporation.
The project will be completed in two lots in the north and eastern regions of Afghanistan, which involves turnkey construction of 2 x 110 KV transmission lines totaling over l00 km; four sub stations and; eight power distribution systems of 20 KV each.
The company has also received Rs 91.50 crore contract form Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd for supply and construction of 400kv double circuit transmission line from the sub-station at Raj West Lignite Thermal Power which is located at Barmer to sub-station at Jodhpur. The length of the line is 220 km and the project will be completed by February 2009.
At 11:42 am, the KEC International share was up 0.35 per cent at Rs 573.50 on BSE. The stock touched a high of Rs 590 following the news.
