Kamat Hotels shares up 12% on expansion plans
Shares of Kamat Hotels surged nearly 12 per cent on reports that the group is set to develop 36 properties in Maharashtra in the next five years.
As part of an aggressive expansion plan for its new four-star luxury brand, VITS, the hospitality company has already zeroed in on Kolhapur, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Surat, Thane, Belgaum, Aurangabad, and Chinchwar in Maharashtra for the prjoect. It also plans to foray into untapped regions in Karnataka and Gujarat.
The group recently launched its first VITS in Mumbai. The other property is in Belgaum, which will be launched in two months. After Belgaum, the group will launch properties in Aurangabad, Nagpur and Pune. The room size of the properties will vary from 80 to 120 rooms, depending on the location.
At 11:49, Kamat Hotels shares were up 11.64 per cent to Rs 282 after hitting a high of Rs 302 in trade so far. The counter clocked a volume of 75,960 against two week average of 11,814 shares.
