JSW Energy zooms 7% as Q1 profit grows 166% YoY

Shares of JSW Energy zoomed about 7 per cent in Friday's trade after the company posted a 166 per cent year-on-year (YoY) jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 554.78 crore for the quarter ended June 2022.

The company had registered a net profit of Rs 208.6 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Total revenue from operations increased to Rs 3,026 crore for the said quarter as against Rs 1,727.5 crore in June 2021.


EBITDA for the quarter was higher by 34 per cent YoY at Rs 1,111 crore as against Rs 830 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The company said that its total expenses saw an increase to Rs 2,485.8 crore from Rs 1,607.4 crore on a YoY basis.

After the financial update, the scrip hit a day’s high of Rs 250.10. At 12:10 am, it traded at Rs 240 around 3 per cent above its previous close of Rs 234.2.
