Jaiprakash Associates up over 2% on Sensex inclusion

MUMBAI: Decline in shares of Jaiprakash Associates came to a halt on Monday on the stocks inclusion in the BSE Sensex. The stock will replace Bajaj Auto from March 14.

At 11:16 am, Jaiprakash Associates stock was up 2.39 per cent at Rs 211.80 on volume of 16,67,377 shares against two-week average of 39,79,147 shares. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 215 and low of Rs 200 in trade so far.

At the same time, shares of Bajaj Auto were down 7.63 per cent at Rs 1,745. It touched a high of Rs 1870 and low of Rs 1735 on volume of 18,135 shares.

The Bombay High Court approval for the de-merger of Bajaj Auto will be effective from Mar 31. The court has sanctioned the de-merger scheme between the companies Bajaj Holdings & Investment and Bajaj Finserv.

The company has fixed Mar 25 as record date for determining the shareholders of the company, who would be eligible to receive shares of Bajaj Auto (new) and Bajaj Finserv in the ratio of 1:1.
