J P Associates, Reliance Capital, Reliance Power down up to 7%; MSCI removes them from India index

MSCI, a leading provider of benchmark indices globally, announced the following changes in constituents for the MSCI Global Standard Indexes yesterday.

J P Associates, Reliance Capital, Reliance Power down up to 7%; MSCI removes them from India index
MUMBAI: Shares of Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Capital and Reliance Power fell sharply by up to 7 per cent after the MSCI removed these stocks from its India index.

Jaiprakash Associates slumped 7.01 per cent to Rs 29.20, while shares of Reliance Power fell by 4.89 per cent to Rs 67.10 and Reliance Capital tumbled 4.68 per cent to Rs 481.05 on the BSE.

MSCI has added Zee Entertainment and Motherson Sumi Systems to its India index. Shares of Zee Entertainment rose by 1.58 per cent to Rs 391.40, while Motherson was down 1.41 per cent to Rs 433.20.

All the above changes to the MSCI India index will be effective from today.
