ITC, HUL, Nestle top FMCG picks: KR Choksey

MUMBAI: Emphasis on agriculture, rural development & storage/supply chains would lead to reduced wastage, decline in food inflation, increase in rural income and thereby lead to increase in consumption, says KR Chokey Report on Union Budget’s impact on FMCG space.

The brokerage’s top picks include ITC, HUL, Nestle.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee stressed on agriculture related activities by increasing agriculture credit flow by Rs 1,00,000 crore to Rs 5,75,000 crore.

The budget proposed interest subvention scheme for providing short term crop loan at 7% to be continued in 2012-13.

A new centrally sponsored scheme titled “National Mission on Food Processing” is to be started in 2012-13 in co-operation with state governments.

“This would lead to improvement in supply chain, higher rural income & will drive rural consumption – Positive for all FMCG companies,” the report said.
